The eye soothing natural beauty of the largest manmade lake, Kaptai Lake, can give any tourist a day to remember all through the life. With high hills in both the sides of the lake and Shuvalang Channel at the centre the lake would fascinate any nature lover. Going a couple of kilometres forward you will see Shuvalang Fountain. You can also have the rare opportunity to see the tribal market alongside watching the hanging bridge, Rajban Bihar, and Shuvalang Bazar while riding on boat.
The lake shaped like English letter H has connected Khagrachhari and Rangamati Districts. The Karnafuli, Kasalang, Rainkhiang and Chengi rivers also meet in this lake. A large government fresh water fish processing zone is located just beside the Rangamati Bus Terminal. The area is known as Fishery Ghat for this.


You can leave Dhaka by bus at night. The fares are within the range between Tk 600-1200. You may get down either at Reserve Bazar or Fishery Ghat. After having breakfast there, you will have to hire boat for the whole day. A boat will charge Tk 1500-4000 a day depending on its quality.
There are a number of hotels and resorts there for your stay. You may stay at a resort which is run by the Army which exclusively has a swimming pool. You can avail a room in the hotels with a payment of Tk 1500- 4000.
And to provide you food there are number of restaurants in Fishery Ghat and Reserve Bazar.
